Bethel Church Core Values
“There is salvation in no one else!
God has given no other name under heaven
by which we must be saved.” –Acts 4:12 (NLT)
All of our Core Values as a Church flow from who we understand Jesus to be-
the Lord of all, the only Savior and Way to God, and the One in whom we find true life here on earth and for eternity. We desire to be more and more about encouraging people to commit to following Jesus as disciples and spreading His Good News of Life and Salvation!
Scriptural- We will be grounded in the Scriptures.
All we believe and are must be firmly grounded in the Word of God and Jesus, the living Word. We will encourage persons to know and practice the scriptures. -1Thessalonians 2:13, 2 Timothy 3:15-17
Worship- We will seek to give all glory to God.
We cherish worshipping God together. We will encourage and give energy to full hearted, regular worship. –1 Chronicles 16:29, Psalm 29:2, Romans 8:17
Salvation and Reconciliation- We will share Jesus’ message of salvation and reconciliation.
Scripture calls us to share the message of salvation and reconciliation we have with God with those around us. We will challenge persons to be agents of salvation and reconciliation in all of their relationships and in all they do.
-Matthew 5:9, 23-24, Acts 4:12, Romans 5:9-11, 2 Corinthians 5:16-21
Holy Spirit- We will recognize our dependence on the Holy Spirit.
The gift and the gifts of the Holy Spirit are vital for a vibrant Christian life. We will emphasize life in the Spirit Jesus gives. –Zechariah 4:6, John 16:7-15, Acts 1:8
Ministry- We will encourage each person to respond to the call to serve.
All believers are called to ministry. We will do all we can to encourage persons to live out God's calling on their lives. –Mark 9:35, Romans 12:3-9, 1 Corinthians 12:4-7
Spiritual Warriors- We will keep practicing prayer.
Nothing of Kingdom value happens without prayer. We will encourage prayer and give time to prayer. -Matthew 6:5-13, 7:7-8, John 15:16, Ephesians 6:18, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-19
Integrity in Relationships- We will encourage healthy relationships in God honoring ways.
God calls us to enter into a fully committed relationship with God and with each other. We will stress relationships shaped by integrity, and openness with God, each other and all with whom we relate. -Ephesians 4:14-16, Galatians 5:1-6, James 5:16
Passionate- We will give God our best.
If it’s about God’s Kingdom, it’s worth doing with all of our heart and to the best of our ability. We will care for ourselves in such a way as to steward our passion. –Romans 12:11, Colossians 3:16, 23
Real- We will not pretend to be something we are not.
How things really are is far more important than how things look. We will strive to be persons of integrity in all we do. –Proverbs 10:9, Matthew 5:23-24, John 4:24, Titus 2:7
Unity- We will work with other Christian churches.
We are part of the Christian Church in this region and are called by God, in keeping with scriptures, to function as a team player. Assisting other churches has the same Kingdom value as assisting our own. -John 17:20-23, Ephesians 4:3-6
